Gen Z at Work

The cool thing about the workplace? ✨

5️⃣ generations coming together and collaborating, communicating, and creating together. 📈

In Chapter/Lesson 1 of ‘Everybody, Be Cool!,” we take a look at the different trends, decades, and generations that created our current workplace.

🤔 What are the patterns?
🤔 What can we learn from the past that will help us in 2025?
🤔 How can we work with our colleagues so we ALL perform at our highest ability?

🧠 If you have a growth mindset, you can learn from anyone. Whether it’s mentoring/reverse mentoring, there’s so much to learn if you’re curious and open.

Let’s take Gen Z for instance. Gen Z gets a bad rap. According to a Forbes article, 45% of hiring managers say that Gen Z careers are the 'worst to manage.'

The reality is that Gen Z has a different perspective. Just like the generation before them (Millennial) and before them (Gen X, Baby Boomer, and the Silent Generation).

👶🏽 We were all once the "new kids on the block" ( 🎶 oh oh oh oh oh🎶 ). 😆

⚔️ The push and pull between generations has sparked the evolution of the workplace to get it what it is today.

🛠️ We could ALL use more context and helpful tools, no matter where we are on our career journey or no matter what generation we're from.

💭 Organizations can set up employees for success by creating learning & development resources that support each generation’s unique needs.

📖 That’s why I wrote “Everybody, Be Cool! 6 Personal Development Lessons to Elevate Your Workplace Vibe.” It has lessons from leadership development programs, takeaways, space for journaling, and goal-setting exercises that anyone can use—no matter where you are in your career.
